Incorrect use of NPUs

Incorrect use of NPUs

Of recent we have been getting negative air pressure units showing up at our work shops for decontamination and servicing. It would appear that employees have not been following the correct use of these critical devices or lack the training to use them effectively.

Here are a couple of photos of machines which are completely damaged and beyond repair or needed expensive replacements due to poor maintenance and servicing. It is vitally important that this equipment is used correctly and staff are trained in its use. This is a requirement under the Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2015.

To often we get grumpy clients who seem to think it is our fault. Please look after your equipment. Remember you are now required to do air monitoring next to your NPUs or just outside the enclosures.
